Morning Walk in Autumn The marsh is half frozen,
splays of ice scattered
over leaves and mud.
Reed tops coated in frost
bowing to the cold.
I walk over the creaking bridge
and think of autumn,
clutching in my stiff hand
three fallen branches
and dead leaves--
a brittle bouquet
for my vase--
their stillness says
I died to make all things new.
Haiku 24 deep fall
sandals peeking out
from the dumpster
Student Before the Teacher Pain,
today I bow before you.
I am brought low;
peace between my perspiring forehead
and the floor it rests on.

Student before the teacher,
I have begged before for mercy,
cried in the night for release;
today I bow before you,
asking for stillness to steep.
Haiku 23 autumn--
geese thunder off the river
We Inturrupt Your Life for... We Interrupt Your Life for a Very Important Message.

Hey world!
You don't have to be angry.
I promise.
You don't have to be mean, or carry those heavy shoulders.
I promise.
You can let go.

It starts with letting you be who you are.
It ends with letting others be who they are.
And everything thing in between is about love
     forgiveness
     and honesty.

And yes the world will get you down some days—
but it's a different world when you've let go,
one filled with people and beauty all conspiring to lift you up
      and make you happy.
Just be open.

You don't have to be angry.
I promise.

Ah. I finally finished another work. This is a re-make of a doodle I did in crayon. I still need practice learning to control the watercolor, and I suppose . . . I'm getting it. All in all, I like it because it is BRIGHT.

And has a bug.

I like bugs.

The shape of the flower is so adorable-- this whole picture looks so cute in crayon AND in watercolor! I demand more!!
